Technoloy at Work - Beta Trial @ Case
Case Western Reserve University has been chosen to be the cross-carrier trial site for mobile 2D bar codes. Case was chosen as a result of their dedication to innovation along with a unique mixture of sciences and arts programs. This trial represents a unique opportunity for the purpose of technology early adoption as Case will be the first community in the U.S. to leverage this powerful technology.
Mobile Discovery has been working in partnership with the Master of Engineering and Management (MEM) program and other University offices to implement the 2D code solution on campus. Collaborative projects with private industry are commonplace at the University and a routine part of the MEM program. In this case, graduate students from the MEM program fulfill various corporate roles as they relate to the new product launch, including Marketing, Sales & Business Development, Engineering, and Corporate Communications. In the process they develop real world experience as they learn first-hand about the challenges companies face bringing new products to market. With support from Mobile Discovery headquarters in Reston, VA, the students provide the on-site leadership and support required to make this new product launch a success.
The trial is designed to beta test the end-to-end mobile 2D Code Ecosystem in order to learn from experiences and ensure the technology works, that users have a good experience and that there is demand for these services. Valuable information will be collected to provide a roadmap for commercialization, to determine advertiser requirements for acceptance and well as to determine consumer behavior and acceptance.
